Getting Yourself Ready for 30(40) Days of Blogging

November 15th begins our annual blogging exercise, The 30(40) Days of Blogging, for priests, deacons, bishops, pastors, or anyone else who would like to get started in Pastoral Blogging.

Why such an early announcement?

There is a greater need than in previous years for good, consistent pastoral blogging – now more than ever, and there is no need to wait until the last minute to get ready. This has little to do with this year’s election. The rise of militant secularism, the advance and tacit support of fascist Islamist, and the curtailing of freedom of speech makes blogging an important pastoral discipline. The world needs more discussion and writing on how Christ changes lives, how the Scriptures come alive and what a Christian is and isn’t (i.e., not a Muslim, not a Mormon, but we love them anyway).

Preachers Institute encourages would-be bloggers through this annual exercise, getting otherwise shy individuals and pastors to join others who pledge to blog every day from Nov. 15, for 30 – or better, for 40 – days. For brand new bloggers, this is the best time of year to make the effort, with fellow priests and pastors from around the country, as we count down the days of Advent and provide our readers with valuable insights, stories, anecdotes and teachings that will help make their preparations for Nativity more special, and more holy, than ever.

We strongly recommend that you start with our ebook

“The Orthodox Guide to Pastoral Blogging.”

Hundreds of others have already used this simple manual to get a blog up and running in minutes, and provided them with weeks of ideas and material for their blogs.

If you do not already have a blog, our ebook will provide you with the step by step instructions to set one up and get started right away.

If you do already have a blog, start getting yourself ready now. There is so much Christophobia in the world, and we need to be the light of the world.

November 14th is the deadline for signing up. Just post the following in the comments section of this post:

  • The Name of Your Blog
  • Your Name
  • The Link/URL address for your Blog

That’s it. This is a commitment, so get ready to do some serious work, BUT much of it can be done and scheduled in advance (see the book!).
