Day 10 – Starting A Fire

fire-challenge

The topic for tomorrow – Day 10 – Mon. Nov. 24 of the 2014 30 (40) Days of Blogging Challenge is

STARTING A FIRE

This is the most basic survival skill there is.

And if you’re wondering what, if anything, this has to do with pastoral blogging, here are a few reminders:

Our Lord Jesus Christ

“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! – Luke 12:49

John the Baptist

I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. – Matthew 3:11

Prophet Daniel

A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, And the books were opened. – Daniel 7:10

Mother Maria of Paris

It is clear to me now: either Christianity is fire or there is no such thing.
