You are here: Home / Old Testament Challenge / 70 out of 100

70 out of 100

stairs of the Old Testament Challenge

Greetings again, fellow Old Testament Challenge warriors!

70As of tomorrow, we are 70% of the way through the challenge. We are way over the hump, and driving towards the finish. We are now on the third column of the reading schedule, about to complete the book of Proverbs, and less that two weeks away from completing the Wisdom books.

Here are a few pointers;

1 – take notes. You are probably noticing some Christological content and prophecy to some of what we are reading. There are also a multitude of prokeimenon verses and Alleluia verses which we covered in our readings from the Book of Psalms, as well as some pretty significant Paschal verses (Let God arise! Let his enemies be scattered! – 10 points if you know both Psalms this appears in. 100 points if you know where else in the OT is appears!). If your parish doesn’t celebrate services in English, I”m sorry to say it, but your excused from knowing it, as you probably missed these.

2 – highlight or underline – so you can find the desired passages again. Most of us are visual learners, so being able to see a verse, already highlighted or underlined in your mind’s eye, is a great aid in remembering where you saw the verse in the first place.

3 – Just. Keep. Reading. I know you are probably tired of me writing that, but that is the key to this challenge. Just keep reading. JUST KEEP READING.

Keep up the good work, and whether you are ahead, on schedule, behind, doing additional reading (such as the New Testaement Challenge) or not,  you will prevail!
